In the recent past, many Saudis and expatriate alike have sustained injuries and fatalities as a result of the ignorant use of pesticides, particularly those containing aluminum phosphate. Indeed it is shocking that in the past few months alone, up to 12 people – including a number of children – in the Kingdom have died as a result of the improper use of pesticides.Common pesticides form a necessary part of all households. We need them on a day-to-day basis in order to rid our homes of insects. In using them however, we often forget that pesticides are fundamentally, cocktails of poisonous substances that can adversely affect our health and the environment if not used with common sense and caution.

Children without a country

There are children who do not have Saudi citizenship even though they have been born to Saudi fathers or mothers. These children face a number of problems that affect their future, such as, not being able to register for school or receive medical treatment. However, the question arises: How can this be? How can these children be deprived of their Saudi citizenship? The following cases show that there are a number of ways in which this might happen. A Saudi may be in another country and might marry a woman and have children with her. He then returns to the Kingdom leaving behind his children without any identification papers. The children then have no recourse but to apply to the Saudi consulate to attempt to prove their nationality.It may also happen that a Saudi girl marries a non-Saudi man. Then the children face the arduous task of obtaining citizenship so that they can be admitted to school, get medical treatment in hospitals, own real estate, as well as enjoy the many other privileges of those who have Saudi citizenship.

Red mercury

Rumors that Singer sewing machines contain the so-called “red mercury” substance has sent prices skyrocketing around the Kingdom, with individuals flocking to markets to pay up to SR200,000 for a single machine.The rumors, which first started circulating a few days ago via the Internet and then the word of mouth, led to a rush for sewing machines that could previously have been bought for as little as SR200.Mansour Al-Turki, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, described the rumors, which have gathered momentum around the Kingdom, “as false and deceptive.”Believers of the rumors say that the presence of a drop of red mercury in the machine’s needle can be verified with a mobile telephone. If the line cuts off when the telephone is placed close to the needle, they say, that proves the existence of the substance.In Al-Jouf, residents were led to believe that a local museum was buying up any Singer sewing machine it could find.

Madan Salah

Al Hajr, "Madan Saleh" is located 22 kilometers from the town of Al Ola and it is strategically located on the road linking the south of Arabian Peninsula (the Mesopotamia), Iraq with Syria and Egypt. From Al Hajar the road of trading divides out into two branches, one heading to Sila', "Petra", which is the political capital of Nabateans, crossing through Tabouk, and the second one leads to Mesopotamia through Tem'a. The location of Madain Saleh had made it into an important economic city to the Nabateans as well as a destination for trading caravans. The city of Al Hajr or Madain Saleh is an archeological site in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, located in the of Al Ola sector within the Al Madinah region. It occupies a strategic position linking Mesopotamia with Syria and Egypt. It was the land of Thamoods in Wadi Al Qurah "Valley of Villages", between Al Madinah and Tabouk. They say that, Al Hajar was known as Madain Saleh or Saleh Quarh.

I would like to give you guys over view about city considered the best city one the earth for Muslims .These are the pictures for Makah AlMukarramah which captures the hearts of a billion Moslems all over the globe. It is the holy city of all Muslims where the prophet Mohammed, peace upon him, was born. The God has honoured it of His Holy Book (Quran), in which it is given eleven different names, including: Makah, Al-Balad Al-Amin, Al-Haram Al-Amaky and Um-Al-Qura. It’s located in the west region of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the narrow sandy valley of Abraham and revered by Muslims because it contain the Masjid Alharam (the holy mosque). The Muslims have to pilgrimage at least once in an individual’s lifetime. The holy mosque in Makkah has Al-Kaba that all Muslims pray to its direction. Al-kaba has in one of its corners a black stone that marks the starting point of the seven circumambulation of the holy mosque.

Saudi Aid for Refugees in Africa

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been greatly concerned with the problem of African refugees in Sudan and Somalia, and of the victims of conflicts in Chad. The assistance in money, foodstuffs, medical supplies, and shelter provided to refugees in these areas amounted to more than 170,000 million Saudi Riyals. In addition, the Kingdom donated 122,500,000 Saudi Riyals for the UN's first and second conferences for assistance to refugees in Africa.
Some countries of the African continent have been hit by natural disasters such as the earthquakes in the Algerian city of Al-Shleif, the hurricanes in the Comoro Islands and Madagascar, and the ravaging floods in some African countries. The Kingdom has promptly come to the rescue of the victims of such disasters by providing assistance in money and in kind and by contributing in the reconstruction programs. The Kingdom provided a total of 618 million Saudi Riyals to seven countries: Algeria, Tunisia, Somalia, Comoro Islands, Madagascar and Nigeria.
